Monumental!

In the Airforce it is vital that one create a "family" to get through.  More often than not we find ourselves well removed from our actual family, unable to have day to day contact with the ones we love.  Because of this, we find it necessary to create our own.  An adoptive family.  Groups of people who you know will be there for you when you need them.  These families get you through long deployments, field excursions, and anything else that requires spouses to be out of reach.
I would not have survived my two pregnancy's in Washington without these adoptive families.  Would not have felt secure in being a lonely pregnant women removed from my extended family and more often than not from my spouse.  These people will always hold a place in my heart.  My gratitude towards them can never be expressed.  When I was alone and needed help and support they were always there for me.

Moving to California, we were excited to have not only our extended family closer, but also the families that we created along the way.

Two families that we were stationed with at Fairchild happen to be stationed at Travis AFB, which is only an hour or so away.

On Tuesday I packed up the kids and ventured out to visit and connect with these lovely people.  Unfortunately one of the families was ill but we were welcomed with open arms to spend the day with the Forets.  We LOVE this family.  Not only was Jeryd lucky enough to go through basic with Danny but we as a family we have been lucky enough to see the Foret family evolve.  I was privledged to be pregnant with Remy the same time Rachel was pregnant with Madeline, and we were lucky enough to be pregnant together again a second time, her with Gavin and me of course with Scarlet.
Rachel helped me out watching my kids while I went on countless doctors appointments and I watched her Madeline when Gavin came around.  Our kids love each other and we always have fun when we are with them.
This is a special family, and I hope to be close with them forever.

The day was lovely....

The sun was shining and we ventured out to the local park.

This park was fabulous, (makes me wish we were stationed here)....

This park had a water feature that was much appreciated by the hot silly children.

Logan thought it was fantastic to lay on the ground and wait for the water to shoot up between his legs.  (Like he was taking a monumental pee).  I appreciate how inappropriate my children are.

MONUMENTAL!

Remy would get upset whenever the water would shut off.

We enjoyed the sun....

And even sweet baby Gavin was daring enough to brave the water.

It was a blast.

LOVE these people!

And LOVE this girl!

It was a GREAT day!

Thanks for spending the day with us Foret family...Looking forward to Gavin's birthday party tomorrow!
