Crossfit Regionals

04-2004.  Kettlebell time
Jeryd has been interested/involved in Crossfit for as long as I have known him.
He believed in the sport even when others didn't.
I remember people actually giving him shit for doing it,
and most wouldn't listen when he tried to explain the reason for and the benefits of it.
Fast-forward ten years, and it is now a worldwide phenomena, with countless followers and gaming events.
*****
This weekend we traveled south to witness the Nor-Cal Crossfit regionals.
The regionals determine who goes on to the summer games.
 Jeryd was super excited,
I was a little more apprehensive.
I didn't see the appeal of spending my Saturday watching a bunch of people lift weights.
But I went in support of my Husband.
*****
I was pleasantly surprised when I got there.
It was exciting and fun.
And extraordinarily motivational.
I mean look at these chicks....
Go Santa Cruz!
The boys weren't all that bad to look at either.

This is Jason Khalipa who won the games in 2008.

In order to qualify they all have to do a bunch of exercises as fast as they can.

This is Khalipa finishing first in event #4.
Seriously....he did all of those exercises (120 pull-ups!) in less than 16 min.
Ridiculous.
It was all incredibly inspiring, and a great way to spend a Saturday.

Even little miss (who wasn't feeling too hot) had fun.
Thanks for making me go Jeryd!
*******

Hope you all had an equally eventful weekend.

HI

It's been kind of boring over here lately.
Daddy was gone this past week.
The day's were long, hot, uninteresting, uneventful...for me anyway.
We went to the local park a few times to stay busy which is always an event for these little guys.

Aren't those shoes fantastic.
She refuses to leave the house without them on her feet.

With the hot weather comes the need to keep little bodies submerged and cool in our trusty wading pool.
That little pool sure has been money well spent.
We bought it when Logan was a baby.
It has withstood multiple moves
and I parked myself in it the summers in which I was gestating with both Remy and Scarlet.
I fear we may be in need of a bigger one however.
****
The weather has been lovely.
I am looking forward to school being out and for summer to be upon us.
We have a busy season in front of us.
Can't wait

Happy Birthday Babe!

We had a great weekend celebrating this guy....

...turning....
******
We headed to the land of the redwoods,
and dropped off the kids with P-paw.
It was rough getting out the door though, and not because of this little lady.
It was this guy who was not too stoked on the idea.
But we managed to sneak out and we left them making memories with their P-paw.
*****
We stayed at THIS  fantastic little B&B in Santa Cruz.
It was lovely.
We met up with some friends for dinner and drinks,
and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
*****
We hurried back in the morning to spend some quality time with our people.
*****
And on Sunday we made our obligatory trek out to the Pacific.
It was foggy but still warm and beautiful.
All of our "kids" made it into the water,

even Miss Sandy.
Puppy prints.
