This weekend Remy, Scarlet, and I got to go over the mountains and through the woods...
....To our most favorite place.
We skipped school on Friday (and Monday too),
and left early in the morning so that we could have as much time as possible with the people we love.
*****
We played with cousins and aunties and Mimi and Pop-pop.
We also were able to squeeze in a visit with Granny and P-pa and Uncle Kyle.
*****
The weather was lovely.
It smelled like Spring.
I could have stayed forever.
******
Sunday morning we went to the beach.
The ocean is magic.
Scarlet was in heaven...
...until she got wet...
...and then she was miserable.
She got SO pissed at me when I started taking her picture during her meltdown.
Thankfully it only lasted a short time.
I gave in and changed her clothes.
oh...and Aunt Aidan bribed her with a lollipop.
Whatever works.
Back to enjoying the beach:
Remy told me that we should live in this house he saw there.
We should go to the beach everyday, never go to school, and be happy.
It sure does sound happy.
I am totally down.
******
Later that afternoon we went back to my parents house to celebrate this little guy:
I can't understand how he got to be 2 so quickly.
It seems like only yesterday this was happening.
***
It was a lovely day.
We barbecued,
ate,
laughed,
and thoroughly enjoyed one anothers company.

| This makes me laugh. I wonder what he was talking so passionately about. |

| Silly Pop-pop. |
It was also a special day because my cousin Cathy,
and her mom and daughter,
were able to come share in the festivities.
It's been a long time since I've seen this lovely lady...
....way too long.
Meeting her daughter for the first time was a treat.
Haley is SO sweet.
My kids were super excited to come home and tell daddy about their new cousin.
Looking forward to the next time we are able to come together.
*****
Aunt Hannah made these wicked cool cupcakes:
They were a hit!
Happy birthday my sweet Nolan!
*****
We had such a fun visit.
It was sad to leave.
Maybe one day we will be closer...
....I'm looking forward to that day.
