Let's Start With Easter.

Oh man........
Didn't want to enlarge this one...nothing but mess.
I actually should have taken a pic of the garage,
= mayhem

Moving sucks.  It doesn't seem nearly as bad when you look back on it, but when you are elbow deep in the mess it feels like there is no end.
We moved not even a year ago and it feels that we somehow exponentially multiplied the amount of crap that we have.  I swear, our crap seems to have reproduced like bunnies giving birth to more crap. All of this crap has accumulated in one big crap heap so when we had to start packing it all up, the amount of crap we had to clean/get rid of/ take with us, was just completely overwhelming.
(crap, crap, crap...ok I am done)

I have also been confronted with the fact that I may have a bit of a hoarding problem and that therapy might be necessary in the near future.

At least I had my helpful boy to bring some order to the situation.

Amidst this whirlwind of chaos I was able to scramble together some old abandoned easter baskets (obtained from god knows where), and throw together some much deserved goodies for my helpful boys.

And boy were they happy/excited/grateful. I don't know if it was over the easter baskets or because they were given a break to be kids and focus on easter bunnies and magic eggs rather than messes and the unsettled feeling of being in-between homes.

Whatever the reason, they had fun and it was fun for us parents to sit back, take a break, and watch our children make memories.  I am curious as to how they will remember this experience.  Will they see it as a necessary interruption to a hectic (possibly traumatic) moving experience, or will they just see it as a moment of happiness contributing to the magic of being a kid.   However it is interpreted, it was enjoyable and fun was had by all.  Mama  The easter bunny even managed to fill a few eggs and sprinkle them in the barren front yard.  Yum, yum...

We than took a break from packing and cleaning to enjoy the sunshine......

.....that is, until the clock told us it was time to pick up Pop Pop and Aunt Aidan from the airport.......

-To be continued

  1. Yikes, at least you did baskets. You are such a good Mama Bunny! I totally flaked out on that this year. Next year will be so much better. Can't wait to hear more!
