Summer Wrap-up

Tahoe is my most favorite place.
Honestly...
....If I am ever feeling the stress of the world,
all I have to do is spend a few minutes on these shores.
A few minutes marveling at the wonders of this place.
I am lucky in that I get to share my most favorite place with my most favorite humans.
And they appear to love it just as much as I do.
Thank you mom for this wonderful trip.
Jeryd was even able to join us this time.
xoxo
My mom decided to rent a boat on one of the days.
It was fantastic.
I realized that being in the middle of the lake was also a happy place.
I think everyone agreed.
Even Remy braved the tube!

On our last Tahoe vacation,
my older sister introduced us to a special beach.
A beach that is worth the thirty minute hike down to it.
It felt like we had it all to ourselves,
despite the naked sunbathers on the otherside of these rocks.
I dreamt up plans of building a house right on that beach while I relaxed in the sun.
I wish I could have stayed there forever.
Have I mentioned how much I love my Nephew.
He and Remy had SO much fun together this summer.
It was heartbreaking to separate them.
I have been daydreaming (since returning home)
about how to keep these two little soulmates together.
I think the daydreams keep me going.
Something to work towards.
It was a marvelous vacation Ma,
thank you for taking us along.

It was also pretty cool to watch my kiddos play in the same pool/complex that I did when I was little.
I don't know why Jeryd looks so startled in this photo.  I think he was messing with me.
Until next time Tahoe!
I can't wait to go back!

After our Tahoe vacation,
we drove back to the valley so that Jeryd could spend a few days with his mom/dad/brother.
I don't think that I ever appropriately appreciated my hometown growing up.
Moving away and living in less than ideal environments has given me a newfound appreciation.
I now understand why people pay so much to live here.
It is beautiful,
it is peaceful,
It is home.
The major selling point is that we can actually go outside in the summertime.
A privilege I definitely took for granted as a kid.
Be grateful all you valley people.
Enjoy it for me while I'm away please.
******
Next stop...
...VEGAS!
It was hotter than hell,
but still a fun experience.
Definitely a different experience with the kids in tow.
But fun nonetheless.
*****
We are now home.
Hibernating in our home.
Between the torrential downpours and the suffocating heat,
our kids are reluctant to venture outside.
They are going to have to acclimate a little quicker however,
school starts in ten days!
*****
We all had the BEST summer.
Definitely wish it wasn't coming to an end.
Hope you all had an equally wonderful/eventful summer break!
xoxo
