Turns out my blog had been frequented by people searching for "little boys in bathtub" and other such things.
I found myself mortified and saddened by this. It turned me off from the whole blogging thing altogether Why would I intentionally post information and photographs of my children knowing that it was being viewed by some unsavory characters.
It definitely made me look at the content of my posts.....the pictures particularly.
At first I thought that I would just stop blogging altogether. Then I thought I would only let my posts be viewed by a select few. But this all felt so stifling and oppressing. This blog is an outlet for me. More importantly its a day to day documentation of those who are important to me. I love looking back at old posts and remembering, and my children do too. I hope that they will appreciate this when they are older. This is for them as much as it is for me.
I don't want this whole thing to be censored, or I won't do it anymore. I want to be able to share this with others.
So I am not going to make this private. I may cease in putting up bath time photos of my little people (or at least make those particular posts private), but I am not going to keep my whole blog private.
Bottom line is I am going to stop feeling violated by sick people who I can not change, and instead focus on happy, lovely, kind, wonderful people who enjoy my blog, and care about my family, and actually want to keep up with our lives.
We can't always be fearful about people/life, otherwise we wouldn't put ourselves out there and do anything. Bad things/bad people happen, we can't change that. But for every "bad" there is so much more good. I choose to focus on the good.
